We are very fortunate at Impetus to be able to perform in the top class theatre facility that is Geelong Arts Centre! We greatly appreciate the opportunity to perform in one of the best theatre facilities in Victoria and be proud that we are all here to get up on stage and dance together for our friends and family.
Being backstage is incredibly special for our dancers. The atmosphere backstage and in the wings is like nothing else, as the dancers prepare to go on stage and show you some of what they have been doing in classes this year.
Our performance is a team effort: students, parents, teachers and the director are key players in the show’s success. Our backstage helpers work very hard to put a system in place to help the dancers to do their very best and shine on stage and we are so grateful for every single one of you!
We recommend all dancers eat before they attend the rehearsal and show. We also suggest you pack clean simple snacks such as fruit/veg sticks/ bliss balls that they will be able to snack on in between their numbers and during interval. Please note we have severe nut allergies in our school, so food needs to be strictly nutfree.
There is limited parking in the vicinity of the theatre, so please keep that in mind when planning your arrival.

Please be prompt - times are very tight. All dancers are to wear their hair/clothes as per requirements. Makeup is not required for Stage Rehearsal. Please come downstairs to the stage door at your designated time and you will get ticked off the door list there and head straight to your dressing room. If you are in multiple classes, please come with your earliest group.

Lots of parents like to organise flowers for their dancers. You are welcome to get them sent to the venue - they will go to box office who will deliver them to the stage door for your star!

No unauthorised personnel will be allowed past Stage Door for security reasons. If you are planning to be a backstage helper, please get in touch with us now, so we can get you on the list. GPAC staff will check every single person entering back stage.
