Term 1 Dates | Open Day | Assistant Teacher Program View this email in your browser Hello Dancers and Parents, Firstly, a huge welcome back to all our returning students this year. We are so excited to see you all again and cannot wait to watch you grow leaps and bounds this year! We are thrilled to welcome lots of new faces to our Dance Family this year as well: Welcome to Impetus, thank you for joining our wonderful crew! We are confident that you will find Impetus an inviting studio that will make you feel at home in no time. As term one gets closer, we are going to start the year off with a bit of housekeeping to make sure you are all ready to go! TERM 1 - START DATE I know, I know - you are all as desperate as me to get back dancing and the good news is: not long now! Our first term starts in the week starting February 5, so your first day will be the respective day your class is on in that week. WHAT TO WEAR Dress Code: Look like a dancer- feel like a dancer. We do not enforce a specific uniform is required, but please wear suitable dance clothing (eg. bike shorts/ leggings/singlet/t-shirt/leotard). No denim, school or sports uniforms, non-stretch clothing or long dresses. Tutus are absolutely welcome, but pointy wings are a bit...pointy. Leave your jewellery at home and save it flying off, breaking, getting caught in clothes or hair, bouncing up and chipping your teeth or getting lost. We will have amazing Impetus t-shirts, tanks and hoodies and our brand new sparkly bows for sale at class! We generally dance in bare feet, jazz shoes or foot undeez at Impetus. We like to feel the floor and develop all those lovely foot muscles. Sneakers are appropriate for Hip Hop and GO!Dance. ASSISTANT TEACHERS We are very excited to be launching our new student teacher program in 2018. This will be an extension of our existing student teacher program ensuring that our wonderful assistants get the most out of their experience. If you or your dancer is currently in year 8 or older and would love to be considered for an assistant teacher position, please head over to our parent portal and fill in the form under share files. Please bring the form to Open Day and give to Jean or email it back to impetusdance@gmail.com by January 24th and we will have a chat about it with you. OPEN DAY We are holding a fun open day full of classes for our younger students on 24 January. We are inviting all of our existing students to come along for a dance class to get back into the groove. Please feel free to invite along any friends who are interested in what Impetus has to offer. We would love to meet them (because your friends are our friends!) and they might love it so much - they want to join up and you would get to dance together. How good would that be!?! WHAT? We will be running super fun combo classes for above age groups at the times, so please come ready to dance! We also invite you or your friends to come along if you just want to say 'hello', ask a question face to face, meet our team or your teacher (most teachers will be there during the day) or if you want any help enrolling. We will be there from 10am - 3pm and would love to see you pop in.
