Newsletter 21 | Welcome Term 3

Hello Dancers and Parents,

Term 3 starts tomorrow, Monday 16th June. We hope you all enjoyed your holidays and are as excited about coming back to the studio as we are!

An big welcome to our new parents and dancers - we have had lots of students sign up for classes in the last few weeks and we trust that you will find Impetus a friendly, inclusive and very fun environment where you can develop and share your love of dance.

A big welcome also to all of our returning students - you know we have missed you and are looking forward to dancing with you again!

How to order your dance photos

Purdey Lee from Purdey Lee Photography has been busy posting lots of mementos out to you this week. If you haven't ordered your photos yet, here is how to secure your gorgeous dance memories.

1. If you haven't already done so - check out the proof books in the studio.
2. Note your unique photo code (combination of class name and number).
3. Hop onto our website and order your photos.

I cannot wait for you all to see the photos: They are amazing, you'll love them! For a little sneak peak of the pics that have already been posted, you can had over to our facebook page here.

Remember: Layers, layers, layers

In winter we have to remember not to overdress for dance class, as we are so cold all day. Please keep in mind that we move a lot in class and get very hot. For dancing, it is best to wear layers, so you can strip off as you get warm. Please keep that in mind and make the following swaps:

Footed tights -> Leggings and Socks

Long Sleeve Top -> Short sleeve tee and cardigan/zip hood

Big fleecey hoodie -> Big fleecey hoodie AND a tee underneath, so you can take the jumper off

Tie your hair up

A reminder for all of our dancers with beautiful long hair - please tie it back, so it is out of your face.

Newsletter 20 | Photos

Hello Dancers and Parents,

We ended a very successful term with lots of fun in our PJ classes. Amazing! We loved how many of our dancers embraced this fun theme and shared lots of laughs!

On a more serious note, we saw a huge improvement in classes after our Cabaret performance last weekend. It is fascinating to see the boost in concentration, skill and enthusiasm that a show provides for our dancers of all ages. The experience is valuable in so many ways! We already cannot wait to see you all back in class for term 3.

Photos available now

Our Dance Photos from term 2 are available to order from our website now. The beautiful Purdey from Purdey Lee Photography - and also beloved teacher at Impetus of course- has captured magical photos of all our dancers. Every student got individual shots taken in costume and every class also had professional group shots done. If you haven't had a chance to have a look at the proof books in the studio - make sure you check them out when we return for term 3. They are AMAZING!

If you have already noted your unique codes (each image has a unique number to make ordering easy), you can hop onto the website now and order your prints. They will get printed on premium paper, packaged beautifully and posted to you. They are such a great memory of dance life!

Term 3

Newsletter 19 | PJ Week

Hello Dancers and Parents,

Wow, what a day! Where do I start? THANK YOU to each and every one of you!

Thank you for choosing Impetus Dance as the dance school for your family.
Thank you for making Impetus the fun, happy place that it is.
Thank you for being excited and getting involved.
Thank you for raising beautiful children - how PROUD were you on Saturday! Our dancers - small and bigger - all got up on stage in front of hundreds of people. What a huge achievement! And didn't they all shine!!?!
Thank you to our passionate teachers - I think we can all agree that they are hugely talented and bring the best in each and every one of our dancers.
Thank you to our amazing assistant teachers/ dance step students: you were phenomenal and all stepped up in a big way.
Thank you to all families to helped out in giving back tickets they didn't need or let younger children sit on their laps. We were able to find a ticket for every single person who had missed out, so all families got to watch their dancers. Your thoughtfulness made another family's day - and ours too!

This was our biggest mid year show in over 30 years of Impetus Dance and we are humbled that we continue to grow thanks to your amazing support! Wow!!! I was thrilled to see so many grandparents and friends come along this year. THIS is what we are about. We are passionate about being a dance FAMILY and I felt all the fuzzy feelings this weekend as I got to meet your families. BEAUTIFUL!

It happens every year...we have so much fun - we forget to take pics! Do you have some photos of your dancer or the show you don't mind sharing? We would LOVE to see them! Please just respond to this email or send them through via facebook. If you are happy for us to share on social media - amazing. If not - we would still love to see them. Just pop a little note letting us know to keep them private and we promise we will!

Feedback?

We think Saturday went really well. We loved the venue and of course our dancers were amazing! What did YOU think? If you were at last year's show where we had tables - what did you think of this year's setup?

We always strive to improve and would LOVE to hear your thoughts. Even if is it just a sentence, one quick thought...positive or negative - we want to hear from you. You can just respond to this email and we will take everything on board!

It's "Wear Your Pyjamas to Dance" week this week at Impetus!

Make sure you can dance in them, and that you won't get too hot, but prepare for a whole lot of energetic, end of term, post-show dancing fun!

Newsletter 18 | Cabaret Tickets

Hello Dancers and Parents,

Wow, sold out!

Thank you for your support!!! Our Junior Show is now fully sold out. It will be an amazing experience for your young dancer to perform in front of an audience of 400 family members and friends!!! We cannot wait for you to see their eyes when they walk off the stage.The performance will be amazing, and the pride and pure joy you can see in their faces afterwards is pure magic!

Can you help?

Unfortunately there are two sides to every story and while we are thrilled with the popularity of our Cabaret, it means that some parents have missed out on tickets. I am sure we all understand the devastation for a little dancer if they cannot show their parents what they have learned.

So, please - if you have purchased any additional tickets that you do not need any more and could hand back to us, you would make someone's day! Please respond to this email and we will sort out a full refund for the ticket or tickets you are handing back. I am sure we can even throw in a free coffee at the venue for your kindness.

We need 14 tickets for 7 families. We can make this happen!

Newsletter 16 | Cabaret

Hello Dancers and Parents,

A quick update: Our Cabaret Junior show is almost sold out. If you are planning on coming along, please get your tickets now. We are selling tickets right up to capacity, so once these tickets are gone there is nothing we can do. We know how important it is for your little dancer to show their family what they have learned, so PLEASE get in quick!

Click here to purchase your tickets. There are only 27 tickets left to the Junior Show and they will go. Senior Show is also filling up quickly, so please do not leave it til last minute as you will miss out.

Changes to Cabaret Seating

Due to unprecedented demand for tickets for our Cabaret Show, we sold out within 3 days! In order to create additional seating and ensure all parents get a chance to see their children, we have removed all tables and arranged seats theatre style in rows. You are still welcome to bring snacks, but please note that you will not have tables to place platters on.

Hello Dancers and Parents,

A HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who helped make the last two "photo weeks" happen. Our team has worked tirelessly behind the scenes getting costumes ready and to the studio - and everyone who was in the studio over the last few days could see the mammoth effort that goes into the photos during class. Thank you to all last minute helpers on the day - you are all life savers! We have the best dance family! THANK YOU!

Cabaret Tickets available now

Our dancers are getting very excited to show off everything they have learned this year. Cabaret tickets are available now. Click here to purchase your tickets now.

We loved you for feedback after last year's show and you told us overwhelmingly that you loved it, so we are going to stick to the same setup:

Tables of 10 | all seating will be allocated. Please refer to the seating plan when you arrive at the venue. If you want to sit with with friends, please book together to ensure you are seated at the same table. Alternatively, email us after booking and we will do our best to sit you together when organising the seating plan.

BYO Food | Please feel free to put together a plate of food to enjoy with your table.

Drinks available for purchase | For your convenience, alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks, including coffee, will be available for purchase at the venue.

As promised we have arranged another print run for our super cool Impetus Bags. To make Cabaret and the behind the scenes so much easier, we will get our printers to add your name to the bag - for FREE.

Hello Dancers and Parents,

Wow, what a week! It's been crazy, but I can tell you - we got some amazing shots. I cannot wait to see all the magic that Purdey has captured for us. Thank you for your efforts and patience! It doesn't go unseen and I appreciate it more than you can imagine!

Trying on costumes and seeing you all "stage ready" in class has made me think about the Cabaret...and the backstage area with everyone's bags.

To make this show the most organised ever, we will run another Impetus bag order with FREE personalisation. Imagine your own Impetus bag with YOUR name on it. I am getting a sample pic made by our printers now and will show you next week! Exciting!!!

Newsletter 14 | Photos Week 1

Hello Dancers and Parents,

Welcome to our first photo week for 2018 - we are so excited about the buzz in the studio. We know it is extra effort for our wonderful parents and teachers as we need your dancers for a little longer in the studio. We promise you it will be worth it once you see the photos. We are so lucky to have the amazing Purdey Lee as part of our dance family - you will LOVE the amazing mementos she'll shoot. Thank you for your cooperation in creating memories that will last a lifetime!

Photo Week 1

We have picked amazing costumes for every class. Please make sure you read below requirements for your relevant class and come dressed accordingly. It will ensure the costumes fit well and the photos will look outstanding. Photos will be used in our Yearbook available at the end of year show and individual photos will be available for purchase.

A friendly reminder for all students - please be ready for our classes to start at the assigned start time. We recommend you arrive 15 minutes earlier to get changed, use the bathroom and of course greet your fabulous dance friends. We want to make sure you get the most of your lessons, so love for you to be warmed up and ready to go when class starts. <3
